On September 28, 2011 Initiation Ceremony for Sherry Moore and Margitta McKinney as Associate Members. Sherry is heading up the Committee for the Marine Corps Ball to be held at St. Michaels Hotel, Prescott, AZ on November 5, 2011.
At the August 24, 2011 Detachment Meeting, Hedwig E Dassinger (Heddy) was awarded the Marine Corps League Distinguished Citizen Gold Medal from the Commandant Marine Corps League. In recognition for her personal service of 3700 hours and 20 years of never missing an assignment with the Veterans Administration Hospital, and her continued 15 years as a member of this Detachment. "Heddy", a Woman Marine Veteran of WWII and widow of a WWII Marine, also received the Challenge Coin. She commented "This is good Duty.
